The Gender Giraffes

Many schools are now obliged to teach about gender issues, with regulatory frameworks in some countries requiring the word “gender” to appear in teaching materials. Yet we believe that many of the visual aides currently used in classrooms are inappropriate and misleading.
We designed this cute pair of creatures to provide teachers with biologically accurate, sensitive teaching materials covering sex, gender, sexuality, personality, and identity, introducing these themes to children in an age-appropriate way which does not burden them with unnecessary information. Our giraffes provide some clarity – and a friendly smile!
