Introducing Genspect American College Survey Volume 3

We’re excited to bring you Volume 3 of the Genspect American College Survey, with insights and evaluations for ten more states. The feedback and engagement from our community have been phenomenal, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts and suggestions. For those who’ve used our Feedback Form, thank you! Your input directly influences the future of this project, so please keep it coming. If you haven’t used the form yet, we encourage you to do so—it’s an easy way to share your ideas and help shape the survey as we move forward. You can find the Feedback Form here.

About the Genspect American College Survey

Our mission is to assist parents of gender-distressed high school students by offering clear and comprehensive information on colleges across the United States. Each institution is evaluated on its approach to gender identity issues, providing families with insights on where their children can pursue a college education without pressure toward medical transition or immersion in a highly activist-driven culture.

Plans for a Second Edition

In response to your feedback, we’re considering expanding our rating system in the Second Edition of the project. In addition to our current three-tiered approach, we’re exploring a more nuanced five-tier rating system. This new approach will range from “Negative” to “None,” “Low,” “Moderate,” and “Strong,”, in terms of levels of activism or support present, to offer more detailed information on each school’s stance and engagement with transgender-related issues. We hope this expanded scale will provide even clearer guidance for families evaluating potential colleges.

Additionally, we’re planning an updated section for the survey that will include information on community colleges and other post-secondary institutions that we didn’t include in this initial pilot project. We know that some families are interested in a wider range of educational options, so we’re working to broaden our scope and include these institutions in our future edition.

The Project’s Rating Categories

Currently, our ratings are based on the following categories:

  • None: No apparent advocacy for gender identity activism.
  • Moderate: Some resources and campus organizations exist but in a non-pervasive way.
  • Strong: Transgender support and activism are integral to campus life and embedded in student services and health resources.

As we consider the new five-tier scale, we look forward to hearing your thoughts on this possible change. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us create the most accurate, practical resource possible.

Volume 3: Alaska, Delaware, Idaho, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas, and Utah

This volume includes an evaluation of colleges in the above ten states. Our goal remains the same: to provide you with the information you need to make informed choices for your family. Please download Volume 3 below for detailed information on each school’s policies, resources, and cultural climate regarding transgender issues.

As always, your involvement shapes this project. Whether you’ve provided feedback through the form or left a comment, we’re listening. Thank you for helping us build this resource and support families navigating the college landscape. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on Volume 3 and the upcoming additions to our survey.
