We’re proud to work alongside ground-breaking American public health researcher Dr. Lisa Littman, the first scientist to investigate the phenomenon of the growing number of adolescents identifying as trans.
Littman’s 2018 paper, “Rapid-onset gender dysphoria in adolescents and young adults: A study of parental reports”, paved the way for many other contributions – including providing the data on which Abigail Shrier’s Irreversible Damage was based. You can see Lisa speaking about her 2018 paper in Genspect’s ROGD Awareness Day conference
Her subsequent paper in 2021, “Individuals Treated for Gender Dysphoria with Medical and/or Surgical Transition Who Subsequently Detransitioned: A Survey of 100 Detransitioners”, conducted a thorough survey of the factors motivating detransition. Lisa’s insights continue to prove invaluable to the growing number of people concerned about poor medical provision for gender-questioning youth.
